In recent times, these two words can rarely come together and be pleasant. On the morning of January the twenty-ninth, however, the rain fall proved to be a beautiful thing. In my daily morning commute to college from home, it is very rare I ever get to experience the best (and debatably worst) part of a storm. I have always loved the rain, simply because of how it has the power to give life to almost everything. It has such a serene sound, pounding against the thick glass of a windshield. When driving in these conditions, it is always best to be wary of the slick roads and low visibility that a heavy storm brings.

In this day and age, most Americans can say that they have lived during a time when America has been in a war. Is that something to be proud of? Is war really an acceptable norm that people should have to deal with in their lives? Most importantly, should people be urged and encouraged to kill for the world-wide incentive that is money? I've been asked several times before, "Why, Dalton?" And I simply reply with a big grin that goes from ear-to-ear and exclaim, "WHY NOT?!" I'm certainly not a reckless individual, but I am ambitious and I suppose that is my great flaw. However, in the context of this, I suppose I must explain. I've chosen journalism as my major for two main reasons. The first of which is that I like to write and I believe that people have every right to be informed and to be able to seek a life of happiness through a lack of ignorance.
